FJN staff successfully completed a Capacity Building Workshop aimed at strengthening their knowledge in advocacy, accountability, and church engagement to promote effective citizens’ participation.
April 8–10, 2026

A three-day workshop aimed at strengthening organizational capacity, advocacy skills, and project management concluded successfully on April 10, 2026. The event brought together participants, facilitators, and stakeholders to engage in intensive learning, discussions, and practical sessions.

The workshop began on April 8 with a focus on Organizational Strengthening and Advocacy Skills. Sessions covered key topics such as lobbying and advocacy strategies, as well as the role of faith-based institutions in governance. Participants actively engaged in group discussions and shared expectations, setting a collaborative tone for the event.

On the second day, April 9, attention shifted to Project Review and Organizational Planning. Participants reviewed ongoing advocacy projects, particularly those promoting citizen participation in public policy formulation within the Mano River Basin region. Sessions on effective project management and planning provided practical tools, while group work allowed participants to reflect on lessons learned, challenges, and opportunities. The day concluded with the development of actionable plans.

The final day, April 10, focused on Project Monitoring, Financial Management, and Accountability. Facilitators guided participants through monitoring and evaluation techniques, financial transparency, and accountability in project implementation. Case studies enabled participants to apply concepts in real-world scenarios, enhancing their understanding of financial management practices.

Additional sessions addressed staff workload management and coordination at the regional level, emphasizing the importance of efficiency and collaboration within organizations.

The workshop concluded with an evaluation session and closing remarks, highlighting the knowledge gained and the commitment of participants to apply these skills in their respective organizations.

 

Overall, the event was marked by active participation, knowledge sharing, and a strong commitment to strengthening advocacy and project management capacity across the region.
