As part of World Food Day week on action for food, the Faith and
Justice Network (FJN) outreach team and its Executive Director, Rev. Tolbert
Thomas Jallah conducted observational tours at various locations in Montserrado
and Margibi Counties in order to engage with farmers. During the team’s visit
to Todee District, Montserrado County, they were able to engage with Puluekpeh
Multipurpose Cooperative Farm in Miller Hill Community, Malamu Forest Rice Farm
in Firestone Division 21, Sackie Town Agricultural Group Liberia Incorporated,
and Goba Town Action Women Group Farm.
Furthermore, as part of the celebration of World Food Day on October 16th under the theme “Right to Food for Life and a Better Future,” the FJN outreach team urging churches to participate in the Anti-Hunger Advocate in the Mano River Basin by showing solidarity and standing in solidarity with small-scale farmers in the efforts to feed the local communities.
Every year, on the 16th of October, people around the world come together to celebrate World Food Day. A global event such as this serves as a powerful reminder of how essential food is to the quality of our lives. Having a reliable source of food is not only a fundamental human right, but it is also an important element of cultural identity and a source of sustenance.
