The workshop served as a platform for participants to examine the growing challenge of corruption in schools while identifying practical solutions that can be implemented by schools, churches, communities, and public institutions.

The opening ceremony featured remarks from AEMEG Coordinator Pastor Franco Molmou, representatives of the Faith & Justice Network, and the Governor of the N’Zérékoré Region. Speakers emphasized that corruption in schools undermines quality education, weakens public trust, and threatens the future of young people. They called for stronger collaboration among governments, faith communities, educational institutions, and civil society to foster a culture of integrity.

Throughout the workshop, participants explored the causes and effects of corruption in Guinea’s education system, including examination malpractice, abuse of authority, bribery, and other unethical practices affecting learners and educators. Facilitated discussions and group exercises enabled participants to identify corruption risks and develop practical recommendations for preventing fraud, improving accountability, and strengthening reporting and monitoring mechanisms within schools.

A key component of the training focused on preventing sexual harassment and abuse in academic institutions. Participants examined the legal framework in Guinea, discussed the responsibilities of educational stakeholders, and proposed measures to create safer learning environments for students, particularly girls and other vulnerable learners. The workshop also highlighted the unique role of churches and faith-based organizations in promoting ethical leadership, advocating for justice, and mobilizing communities to reject corruption in all its forms.

The workshop concluded with the official launch of the Regional Corruption-Free Schools Campaign at AYD High School in N’Zérékoré with over 19 schools and civil society organizations were in attendance. During the ceremony, participants reflected on lessons learned, shared personal commitments to promoting integrity, and pledged to become ambassadors for transparency within their schools and communities. Regional authorities and partner organizations reaffirmed their support for expanding the campaign to reach more educational institutions across Forest Guinea.

Speaking during the event, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Faith and Justice Network, Rev. Dr. Nuwoe-James Kiamu reaffirmed FJN’s commitment to building societies where education serves as a catalyst for justice, peace, and sustainable development.

“Corruption is not merely a governance challenge, it is a moral challenge. Every act of corruption within education steals opportunities from children, weakens public institutions, and undermines the future of our nations. Faith communities have both the responsibility and the opportunity to champion integrity, accountability, and justice for future generations.”

The Regional Corruption-Free Schools Campaign initiative reflects the long-standing partnership between Faith & Justice Network and AEMEG to address social injustice through faith-based advocacy, civic education, and community engagement. By bringing together government institutions, churches, educators, students, and civil society organizations, the project seeks to inspire collective action toward creating schools where integrity becomes the standard and every learner has the opportunity to thrive in a fair and transparent environment. Faith & Justice Network remains committed to supporting regional initiatives that empower communities to combat corruption, uphold justice, and build a future where ethical leadership transforms lives across the Mano River region.

Views: 8 N’Zérékoré, Guinea | July 8, 2026, The Faith & Justice Network (FJN), in partnership with the Evangelical Alliance Mission of Guinea (AEMEG), has successfully launched the Corruption-Free in School campaign in N’Zérékoré, Forest Guinea, reinforcing a shared commitment to promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability within educational institutions across the Mano River region.
