Represented by Ms. Gbolu Beatrice Beyan, Gender Justice Awareness Coordinator and Mrs. Wenwou Christiane Llyod, Administrative Associate, FJN stood alongside fellow advocates to advance the conversation on gender equality—particularly the critical role men and boys must play in dismantling patriarchal norms.

Serving as a panelist, Ms. Gbolu Beatrice Beyan delivered a bold and thought-provoking message that echoed throughout the room: men must step off the sidelines and into active participation in the fight for gender equality. Challenging the outdated “good guy” narrative, she called on men to move beyond passive allyship and take decisive action—especially when witnessing harmful behaviors and attitudes.

Her words were a prophetic call to action. Gbolu urged men to disrupt male-dominated spaces, amplify marginalized voices, and use their influence for transformation. She acknowledged that resistance is inevitable—but also an opportunity: “Pushback,” she stated, “is not a reason to retreat. It’s a moment to stand firm, to recommit, and to inspire change in others.”

The dialogue offered powerful insights on topics ranging from the social construction of masculinity to the pivotal role of the home in shaping gender norms. It served as a meaningful space for learning, reflection, and connection.

Our participation in this landmark event reaffirms the Faith and Justice Network’s unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and inclusion. It also opened new pathways for collaboration and partnership with fellow changemakers across the region.

Together, we continue the work of building a more just and equal Liberia—for all.

Views: 4 Monrovia, Liberia – September 10, 2025: The Faith and Justice Network proudly joined leading voices for gender justice at the recent African Women Leaders Network (AWLN) Liberia Chapter Positive Masculinity Dialogue.
