February 19, 2025, Monrovia, Liberia. The Faith and Justice Network (FJN) applauds President of Liberia for Suspension of Non-Compliant Government Officials. The Faith and Justice Network commends President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr. for his decisive action in suspending government
officials who have failed to declare their assets as required by law. By taking action against non-compliant officials, the President has sent a clear message that ethical governance and adherence to legal standards will not be compromised. This bold move is a crucial step in upholding
transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in Liberia. This initiative reinforces the commitment to ensuring that leaders serve the people with integrity, responsibility, and respect for the laws of the land.

At the Faith and Justice Network, we believe that strict enforcement of legal and ethical standards is essential to building a government that is not only accountable but also trustworthy. We encourage President Boakai and his administration to continue on this path, holding all public servants to the highest standards of conduct, and reinforcing the principles of fairness and justice.

Corruption has been a persistent and devastating problem in Liberia, undermining public trust in government institutions, perpetuating poverty, and obstructing development. Our country cannot achieve lasting peace, prosperity, and dignity without tackling this issue at its core. For too long, we have witnessed alleged thieves and corrupt officials enriching themselves at the expense of the most vulnerable in society.

We also call on all government officials to take this matter seriously and comply with the legal requirements, as it is essential for building a better, stronger Liberia. We stand in support of this important move toward greater transparency and the promotion of justice, equity, and good
governance in Liberia.

The Faith and Justice Network (FJN) stands firm in its commitment to justice, transparency, and accountability in Liberia. We have long advocated for the eradication of corruption in all sectors of society and remain resolute in our call for immediate and decisive actions against corrupt
officials and individuals who rob our nation of its potential.

It is with this understanding that we call for a laborious approach to address the issue of corruption. We believe that two measures” seizure of stolen assets and the imposition of strict jail terms” are the most effective deterrents to corruption in Liberia. FJN is calling on the Government of Liberia
through the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, the Asset Recovery Team and the Justice Ministry to:
“Seize Stolen Assets” and that Individuals found guilty of corruption must not only face the full extent of the law, but their ill-gotten gains should be confiscated and returned to the public coffers.
This will send a clear message that corrupt practices will not lead to personal enrichment, but rather to the loss of ill-gained wealth and privileges. The proceeds of corruption should be used to fund initiatives that benefit the people of Liberia, including infrastructure projects, education, and
healthcare.
“Impose Strict Jail Terms” and that Corruption must be met with strong and unyielding penalties in accordance to national and international laws. Those who abuse their positions of power for personal gain should face significant jail sentences that reflect the severity of their actions. FJN
advocates for the full enforcement of existing anti-corruption laws and for the passage of new, stricter legal measures where necessary to ensure accountability and the rule of law.
It is our firm belief that these actions will not only punish wrongdoers but also set a strong example for others. Liberia’s long-term stability and growth depend on a culture of accountability and justice. To rebuild the trust of the Liberian people, the government must take concrete steps to eliminate the scourge of corruption.
The Faith and Justice Network remains committed to advocating for the protection of the rights and dignity of all Liberians through the promotion of justice, integrity, and ethical leadership. FJN stands ready to support any and all efforts to combat corruption. We are committed to working
alongside all stakeholders, including the Government of Liberia, civil society, and the international community, to create a more just and equitable Liberia for all.

We call on our fellow citizens, government officials, and public servants to support these measures and work together for the common good. It is time to hold those in positions of power accountable, and to take back what has been stolen from the people of Liberia.
May God Almighty save Liberia and help all citizens to walk in the path of righteousness. Amen!
