The Faith and Justice Network (FJN) successfully executed a crucial Youth Digital Literacy and Social Media Campaign today. The event was held in observance of International Anti-Corruption Day and in support of the 16 Days of Activism.
The program was centered on the theme “Safe, Smart & Responsible Online!”, aiming to empower young people with essential skills for navigating the digital world. Promoting responsible digital citizenship is a key focus in building an informed, active, and accountable citizenry.
The interactive program featured three rotational sessions that allowed participants to delve into critical discussion topics. Mr MacDonald Nah of the SMART Liberia, led insightful discussions on the importance of one’s permanent digital footprint, emphasizing that everything shared online leaves a trace and impacts future opportunities, urging youth to maintain integrity and safety in their digital lives.
Mr Archie Forpoh CEO, Ignite EcoGear presented valuable information on how to utilize the internet and digital tools effectively to create opportunities and personal growth, shifting the perspective from simple consumption to strategic usage for education, career, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the Gender Justice Coordinator at FJN Gbolu Beatrice Beyan provided crucial guidance on the importance of knowing and upholding personal values, explaining that these values must guide behavior both online and offline to ensure consistency and ethical conduct. The day successfully concluded as FJN’s commitment to youth empowerment and social justice was clearly demonstrated through this impactful initiative.
